Shunning the gray colored omelet and sides prepared by the chefs at United Airlines, I had somewhat of an appetite when I arrived here in Germany.
And, after a quick scan of the terminal (no Amex Centurion lounge in sight), I decided to go full German. You never go full German, but I did. I went full German.
My breakfast of bockwurst and brezel was unbelievably cheap at €5. The beer was an extra few euro, but still a bargain.
It was all very nice, and even more so when washed down with this gem of an espresso. As good as Italy? Maybe not. But still delicious, in a "puts SF trendy hipster coffee to shame?" You bet.
We talked real estate (he is the CFO of a REIT), cars (he has an order in for the new Tesla X, which sounds awesome), and food...of course food.
They were going to be spending a few nights in Aix, and I had been given a recommendation for a bakery there by a friend in SF. I passed it along to them, though I'm not sure I will visit myself as Aix is about 40 minutes away from L'Isle Sur la Sorgue.
Incidentally, I found the translation for Sorgue. So, there you go. Sorgue is sorgue; just the name of the river in the municipality, or "arrondissement" of Avignon.
In any case, boarding will begin soon. These Germans are very punctual, you know. Okay ragazzi, see you in France! Jajajaja!!!
